Geomorphological Mapping for Land Suitability Evaluation

نویسندگان

چکیده

Geomorphology affects the potential of land. The geomorphological condition an area has implications for physical characteristics, including: 1) type; 2) material; and 3) processes formed upon it. Understanding land capability allows evaluation suitability. Classification suitability is carried out by combining results identification with requirements plant growth or existing use. Evaluation can be done using survey method. This study aimed to assess in Sumbersuko Village Wagir District, Malang Regency. Land was evaluated matching characteristics class. used primary data taken from regional morphology survey. Secondary included: digital elevation model data; geological maps; maps soil types; 4) Sentinel-2A images. field were then compiled a geographic information system into 2D 3D modeling. GIS analysis showed that six landform units, namely M1V1, M1V2, H2V2, U2V2, P2V2, M3V3. Analysis units row gave following results: forest (highly suitable/S1); industry (suitable/S2); plantation/agrotourism (moderately suitable /S3); agriculture (not suitable/N); 5) residential (less suitable/S3) S4); 6) suitable/S1).

Modeling land suitability/capability using fuzzy evaluation

Modeling the suitability of land to support specific land uses is an important and common GIS application. Three classic models, specifically pass/ fail screening, graduated screening and weighted linear combination, are examined within a more general framework defined by fuzzy logic theory. The rationale underlying each model is explained using the concepts of fuzzy intersections, fuzzy unions...

A soft computing logic method for agricultural land suitability evaluation

There is a need for expanding agricultural lands due to increased demand for food production and security. Some regions can convert available land to agricultural land use. In order to evaluate available land for future agricultural production, multi-criteria evaluation (MCE) methods can be used to identify the land suitability. This study proposes and implements the soft computing logic and Lo...

Evaluation of land suitability for irrigation using fuzzy analytic hierarchy process

Use of new techniques to evaluate irrigation areas can enhance water use efficiency in agriculture. In this study, the fuzzy analytic hierarchy Process (FAHP) was used to qualitative land suitability for sprinkler irrigation and was compared with the parametric method. Evaluation based on parametric method showed that an area of about 1597.83 hectares (31%) of the lands was highly suitable (S1)...

Mapping soil salinity using Landsat 8 images for land evaluation: A Case Study of Saveh

Introduction: As a valuable asset that play a key role in the environment, natural resources, and the production of agricultural products, soil provided an appropriate ground for plant growth and vegetation development. Therefore, any disregard to the preservation of such a valuable capital may result in food shortages, soil erosion, and degradation of natural resources. From among different i...

Evaluation of Sentinel-1 Interferometric SAR Coherence efficiency for Land Cover Mapping

In this study, the capabilities of Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) time series data and machine learning have been evaluated for land cover mapping in Iran. In this way, a time series of Sentinel-1 SAR data (including 16 SLC images with approximately 24 days time interval) from 2018 to 2020 were used for a region of Ahvaz County located in Khuzestan province. Using InSAR proces...
